Mother Teresa in St Paul, Alberta, Canada
In 1982, Mother Teresa visited St. Paul, Alberta, to receive a gift from the community — a cheque for $925,000 for her leper colony in India.
The day was hot and people of St. Paul thronged to see the iconic Sister accept their gift. She waded into the crowds, chatting with the locals, smiling as she accepted bouquets of flowers from children and taking the hand of anyone who approached her.
I was there and captured more than 60 photographs of Mother Teresa and the historical event.
These images, and particularly the one of her hands continues to resonate with me as a testament to her humanity and humility.
